    RESPONSIBILITIES

     

    Job Information

    Do you have an interest in DevOps methodologies, software architecture design and cloud computing?  Our engineering positions are responsible for the development and implementation of cloud applications, systems, and processes. The candidate will need to be able to handle multiple tasks in a fast paced team environment.

     


    Key Job Functions

     

    • Creates and maintains all databases required for development, testing and production usage.
    • Plans and implements backup and recovery of the Oracle database.
    • Controls migrations of programs, database changes, reference data changes
    • Performs database re-organizations as required to assist performance and ensure maximum uptime of the database.
    • Puts standards in place to ensure that all application design and code is produced with proper integrity, security and performance.
    • Planning is also performed by the DBA, along with the application developers and System administrators, to ensure that any new product usage or release upgrade takes place with minimal impact.
    • Provides technical support to application development teams.
    • Administers all database objects, including tables, clusters, indexes, views, sequences, packages and procedures.
    • Troubleshoots with problems regarding the databases, applications and development tools.

    QUALIFICATIONS

     

    Education   

    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS or related technical field required.

     

    Minimum Experience  

     

    • Minimum 3 years working in software engineering with hands-on DevOps practices/tools experience, or similar recent coursework
    • Minimum 4 years of experience of Oracle database administration, including system design, configuration, maintenance, upgrades and administration.
    • Minimum 1 years' experience working with AWS

     

     

    Specialized Knowledge & Skills     

      

    • Experience in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of both open source licensed and Commercial-off-the-Shelf software tools that support Oracle Database
    • Experience in the configuration, management and administration or Oracle RAC, Oracle DataGuard or Golden Gate solutions

    • Can demonstrate strong programming skills using a preferred language, for example, python, ruby, java, nodejs, or similar

    • General understanding of Java and maven

    • Experience creating cloud infrastructure as code using Terraform and/or CloudFormation

    • Ability to perform defect root cause analysis and provide resolution

    • Ability to use a variety of open source technologies and cloud services

    • Scripting experience with python or ruby

    • Excellent user interface / interpersonal / written and verbal communication skills

    • The ability to operate in a team environment consisting of both internal and external members, co-workers and customers
