RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Job Information

 

CSS is seeking a Senior Network Engineer with in-depth understanding of networking systems to be used in cloud and traditional on-premises environments. 

 

Key Job Functions

  • Actively support operational teams and other stakeholder teams to maintain business continuation and maintain customer satisfaction.
  • Interface with stakeholders to design and deploy the networking for new and existing systems.
  • Automate infrastructure deployments in Amazon Web Services for new and existing environments.
  • Automate disaster recovery plans to support the applications that run in multiple availability zones and across regions in AWS.
  • Automate monitoring tools to monitor system health and reliability to support high uptime requirements.
  • Build executive business cases for opportunities for larger scale, long-term improvements.
  • Mentor less experienced developers in implementing their user stories and defect resolutions.

QUALIFICATIONS

 

Education   

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent required.

Minimum Experience  

  • Minimum 8 years of related IT networking experience.
  • Cisco experience with modern Cisco equipment and design patterns, certifications desired (CISSP, CISSA).
  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the US without requiring employer sponsorship currently or in the future. CSS does not offer H-1B sponsorship for this position.

 

Specialized Knowledge & Skills     

  • Experience with designing, managing and operating networking environments for mission critical business functions in a mid to large scale enterprises.
  • Knowledge of Amazon Web Services (AWS) networking including VPCs, subnetting, security groups, route tables, peering connections, and Privatelink.
  • Strong knowledge of firewalls (Fortinet) and the use of dynamic routing and firewall policies with unified threat management (UTM). 
  • Ability to perform configuration, testing, and troubleshooting of IP network infrastructure (LAN, WAN, and cloud systems). 
  • An understanding of cloud services, specifically Amazon Web Services and exposure to products like EC2, VPC, S3, IAM, RDS, and Cloud Watch.
  • Supporting Linux and Microsoft Windows Server based operating systems in a physical, virtual, and cloud-based environment.
  • Interface and coordinate with ISP’s for break/fix, installation, and moves/adds/changes of Internet connectivity.
  • Design patterns (firewall as well as additional products), certifications desired.
  • Fortinet experience with FortiOS based products building and maintaining connectivity between sites, partners, and SaaS/IaaS/PaaS providers (mostly Amazon Web Services).
  • Beneficial to have experience with Cisco Meraki networking and Zscaler Internet Access but not required.
  • This position requires for the candidate to be local to the Bethesda, MD office for on-site support.

Pay Range $142,000 to $160,500

 

CSS’s pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.  CSS offers a competitive total compensation package, which includes a performance bonus, 401k match, healthcare coverage, PTO, and a broad range of other benefits.
